The 600 features two heavy-duty counter-rotating shafts, each equipped with 12–16 hexagonal knife carriers mounted with 2–4 tool steel cutting blades each. The intermeshing knife array generates powerful shearing and tearing force at low rotational speed — producing clean, uniform metal chips from sheet metal, profiles, pipes, and mixed light scrap without the high-impact noise and vibration of traditional hammer mills.
With a 600 × 500 mm cutting chamber, dual 15–22.5 kW motors, and a hydraulic pusher ram rated at 10–20 tons of thrust force, the 600 is the workhorse of mid-size metal processing operations across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
Counter-rotating shafts with staggered hexagonal knife carriers generate a powerful dual-action — the material is first gripped by the intermeshing knife pattern, then sheared progressively as the shafts rotate. This low-RPM, high-torque approach delivers superior shredding quality with significantly less noise, vibration, and energy consumption than high-speed impact shredding.
Each shaft carries 12–16 hexagonal knife carriers (sealed bearing units) that rotate independently as they pass through the cutting chamber — dramatically reducing wear and extending knife life. Each carrier accepts 2–4 tool steel blades (4 edges per blade) — 96–128 total cutting edges per machine. When dull, individual blades are rotated or replaced without disturbing adjacent carriers.
The cutting chamber is machined from a solid weldment with CNC-bored bearing housings, ensuring perfect shaft alignment throughout the machine’s operating life. The solid construction prevents material bypass and ensures consistent output quality across all operating conditions.
Two 15–22.5 kW motors (total 30–45 kW) drive the shafts through heavy-duty planetary gearboxes. The dual-motor configuration delivers maximum starting torque without overload — the machine handles dense, bulky material that would stall a single-motor shredder of equivalent power.
💨 High-Thrust Hydraulic Pusher (10–20 Tons) A heavy-duty hydraulic cylinder drives the material pusher ram with 10–20 tons of thrust force — continuously feeding material into the cutting chamber without manual intervention. The pusher speed is infinitely variable via flow control valve, adjustable to suit material type and feed rate requirements.
At 15–30 rpm shaft speed, twin-shaft shredding generates far less noise and vibration than hammer mills. The solid-welded frame construction eliminates bolted panel resonance. Combined operational noise: ≤ 78 dB — suitable for enclosed industrial environments and noise-sensitive locations.
Measuring 3,000 × 2,200 × 2,000 mm with a weight of approximately 4,000–6,000 kg, the 600 fits on standard industrial floors without special foundations. It accepts standard 380V/415V 3-phase power — installable in most industrial facilities without electrical infrastructure upgrades.
An optional magnetic belt conveyor can be integrated at the discharge point — automatically extracting ferrous metal chips from the output stream and depositing them into a collection bin, while non-magnetic material is discharged separately.
Every HuaZhi 600 machine undergoes a minimum 4-hour full-load test at our factory before dispatch. Dynamic balance certification, gear oil inspection, and hydraulic system pressure test are all documented and provided to the customer.
