The HuaZhi Model 800 Twin-Shaft Metal Shredder occupies the critical middle ground between compact entry-level shredders and fully industrial heavy-duty systems — delivering the throughput, durability, and versatility that mid-to-large scale metal recycling operations need without the premium investment of ultra-heavy equipment.

With a powerful 60–90 kW dual motor drive, an 800 × 600 mm cutting chamber, and a hydraulic pusher rated at 15–25 tons, the Model 800 processes 15–60 metric tons of scrap metal per day — making it the workhorse choice for medium-sized scrap yards, metal trading operations, steel service centers, and manufacturing plants with significant scrap generation.

The twin counter-rotating shaft design uses intermeshing hexagonal knife carriers that progressively shear, tear, and compress material — producing clean, uniformly sized metal chips ideal for direct furnace charging, briquetting, or further processing.

Twin-Shaft Counter-Rotating Shearing Technology

Two heavy-duty shafts rotate in opposite directions at 15–30 rpm, generating massive interlocking shearing force. The low-speed, high-torque design handles thick-walled pipes, structural sections, and mixed scrap efficiently — with far lower noise, vibration, and dust generation than high-speed hammer mills.

Hexagonal Knife Carrier System

Each shaft is equipped with 10–14 hexagonal knife carriers, each accepting 3–4 heavy-duty tool steel blades with 4 indexed cutting edges per blade — providing 120–224 total cutting edges per machine. The sealed bearing design on each carrier prevents contaminant ingress, and individual carriers can be removed for blade replacement in under 30 minutes.

Heavy-Duty Q345B Steel Frame Construction

The main frame and cutting chamber are fabricated from Q345B high-strength structural steel (12–16 mm thickness), CNC-machined for precise bearing alignment. The solid weldment construction maintains perfect shaft geometry under continuous peak-load operation, eliminating frame flex and premature bearing wear.

Dual 30–45 kW Motor Drive (Total 60–90 kW)

Two industrial-grade 30–45 kW motors drive the shafts through planetary gearboxes, delivering synchronized high starting torque. The dual-motor configuration ensures reliable startup under full-load conditions and provides operational redundancy — the machine continues running at reduced capacity if one motor requires servicing.

Hydraulic Pusher Ram (15–25 Tons Thrust)

A single-stage dual-cylinder hydraulic system drives the material feed ram with 15–25 tons of thrust force, compressing and feeding material into the cutting chamber automatically. Proportional hydraulic valves adjust pushing force based on material density — preventing jams while minimizing energy waste.

Siemens PLC + HMI Touchscreen Control

Industrial Siemens S7 series PLC with 7–10” HMI touchscreen. Features include: automatic overload protection with motor current monitoring, jam detection with auto-reverse, production hour counter, fault logging, and optional RS-485/4G remote communication for remote monitoring and predictive maintenance.

Integrated Acoustic Enclosure (Standard)

The complete machine comes with a full acoustic enclosure as standard equipment — reducing operational noise to ≤ 78 dB. The 50 mm insulated enclosure panels are hinged for easy maintenance access. Optional upgraded acoustic panels reduce noise to ≤ 72 dB for operations in noise-sensitive areas.

Magnetic Drum Separator Included

A 600–800 mm wide magnetic drum separator is mounted on the discharge conveyor as a standard component — extracting ferrous metal from the output stream at > 99% separation efficiency. Produces clean metal chips ready for direct furnace charging.

Rapid Maintenance Design

Split cartridge main bearings (SKF/TIMKEN equivalent), externally mounted seals, and modular knife carrier assemblies mean routine maintenance tasks that take compe*****s’ machines 1–2 days are completed in 2–4 hours on the Model 800.
